Your GMC Terrain works hard to keep you moving safely each day. To continue running like new, your SUV requires regular maintenance and replacements. Some key parts that will need attention are your brakes. At Peruzzi Buick GMC, our certified team will handle any and all services required, including brake repair and maintenance. Stop by our location to meet our GMC dealers in Fairless Hills today.

About Brakes

In order to stop your SUV, your brakes need to release kinetic energy and are able to do so through friction, which converts it into heat. When you press the brake pedal, a piston is pushed into a cylinder that squirts hydraulic fluid out through a pipe, which feeds into wider cylinders along the car’s brakes. The brakes on your GMC Terrain are composed of four main components – brake pads, rotors, brake lines, and fluid.
After about 50,000 miles, you may begin to hear a squealing or grinding noise when you apply the brakes. This means that your brake pads need to be replaced. Other indicators include your pads visibly looking a quarter-inch thick, your pedal vibrating, or an indicator light illuminating.
