Have you received a notification that your lease-end is approaching? There are a few steps that you should complete before you return your Buick lease. We’ve got a few tips to help you prepare for your lease-end at Peruzzi Buick GMC.

Review Your Contract

Before your lease ends, it’s important to review your original contract to help you decide how to proceed. You want to see the buyout price, if that’s an option. You also want to prepare for any fees that you may have, including excessive mileage or wear and tear fees.

Get an Estimate of Your Vehicle’s Value

Your lease contract should also include your vehicle’s residual value. We recommend getting an estimate of your vehicle’s current value to see how they align. That way, you can see if it even makes sense to buy your vehicle. Plus, if you have an open-end lease, you will have to cover the difference if it’s worth less than expected.

Get an Inspection

When you turn in your lease, your vehicle will be carefully inspected. If it has anything that’s determined to be more extensive than everyday wear and tear, you’ll owe fees. You may want to consider getting repairs completed to avoid these fees, if they’ll be substantial.

Decide What’s Next

Once you have all the information, it’s important to decide what’s next. You have a few options moving forward:

  • Return your lease and lease (or buy) a new vehicle
  • Buy your leased vehicle (to keep or use as a trade-in)
  • Extend your current lease
