GMC Canyon

Who says you need a big, beast of a vehicle in order to do some off-roading? Sometimes very good things do come in smaller packages, and the GMC Canyon is the perfect example. This mighty compact pickup offers:

A Lot of Power

The base GMC Canyon comes with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. There are also two others available:

  • A 3.6-liter V6 engine that cranks out 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque
  • A turbodiesel 2.8-liter four-cylinder that puts our 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque

A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, while an eight-speed automatic is available. Rear-wheel drive is also standard, but you can get four-wheel drive.

Great Off-Road Capability

If you opt for four-wheel drive, any GMC Canyon can be taken off-road. But for the best experience, you’ll want the AT4 trim. This comes standard with four-wheel drive, along with a transfer case skid plate, an off-road-tuned suspension system, and 17-inch wheels with 31-inch all-terrain tires.

You’ll get a locking rear differential and 8.4 inches of ground clearance as well. There are also extra off-road features you can add, including:

  • Rocker panel guards
  • Skid plates for the engine and transmission
  • A one-inch lift to the front suspension
  • A bed-mounted roll bar with off-road lights
