The base trim gets access to more active safety features than before, and the four-cylinder engines get improved towing capabilities.

Not to mention, the GMC Sierra 1500 already offered the legendary Duramax® diesel engine and highly capable ten-speed automatic transmission before, but now, it also includes a transparent trailer rearview camera, weight-saving carbon fiber composite in select trims, and a multi-function tailgate.
Combine the ProGrade trailering system with the Max Trailering Package, the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine, 4x2 driveline, and double cab configuration, and the GMC Sierra 1500 can haul up to 2,280 pounds and tow up to 11,300 pounds.
