Available Engines

The SUV’s base engine is a 5.3-liter V8 powerplant that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. An available 6.2-liter V8 engine delivers 460 lb-ft of torque and 420 horsepower. Optional on select trims is a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that generates 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
All trims rely on a 10-speed automatic transmission for gear changes. Two-wheel drive is standard, with the option to upgrade to four-wheel drive for enhanced stability. The GMC Yukon XL AT4 and Denali Ultimate trims are only offered with four-wheel drive.
Cargo Room
New GMC SUVs are capable of moving people and gear seamlessly. In addition to being able to accommodate up to nine passengers across three rows, the GMC Yukon XL can transport lots of gear inside its cabin. Behind the third row, the SUV has 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Folding the third row frees up 93.8 cubic feet of cargo room. The SUV’s cargo capacity swells to a cavernous 144.7 cubic feet if you fold the second and third rows.
