Engine Details and Cargo Room
A five-passenger SUV, the GMC Terrain is available in four great-looking trims. Each model relies on a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine for motivation. The engine delivers 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, which is enough power for the GMC Terrain to tow as much as 1,500 lb when it has the right equipment.
Front-wheel drive is standard for the SLE and SLT trims, with all-wheel offered as an option. AWD is the only drivetrain available for the outdoor-oriented AT4 trim and the luxe Denali model. All trims employ a nine-speed automatic transmission for gear shifts.
Despite its classification as a compact SUV, the GMC Terrain has ample room for your belongings. Cargo space behind the second row measures 29.6 cubic feet. The SUV’s cargo capacity swells to 63.3 cubic feet if you fold the back seats. A fold-flat front passenger seat enables you to transport longer items, like furniture.
