Your GMC Service Schedule

Mechanic in blue is ready for GMC Service

Regular GMC service is vital for keeping your car healthy and performing as it should. Here we go over some key maintenance tasks and when you need to get them done:

Every Two to Three Months

There are a couple of things you should be checking every few months for your car:

Fluids

There are many systems in your GMC Acadia – including the transmission, brakes, and power steering – that rely on fluids, and they have to be at the right levels. This is why it’s important to check them often and top them off if necessary.

Air Pressure

The air pressure in your tires can fluctuate based on the temperature, so this is something else that should be looked at pretty frequently. In addition to enhancing your safety, the right psi (pounds per square inch) helps your gas mileage.

Every Six Months

Every six months – or twice per year – you should be getting:

Oil Change

Even if you don’t hit the 5,000 miles or so that you can go between oil changes, you should still get an oil change at around six months. This is because oil degrades over time, regardless of how much driving you do. For optimal engine performance, it needs to have clean and fresh oil running through it.

Tire Rotation

It’s a smart idea to have your tires on your GMC Terrain rotated during the same service trip you get your oil changed. Doing this lets all four of them wear down more evenly. You’ll get a lot more life out of them this way, and this will also boost safety and performance.

Every Year

At least once a year, you should be getting your:

Battery Tested

Batteries just don’t last that long, as their typical lifespan is between three and six years. Testing yours every year will let you know how much charge remains. If it’s getting low, you can be proactive and have it replaced.

Brakes Inspected

You should also have the brakes in your GMC Sierra 1500 thoroughly inspected every year. Parts like shoes and pads eventually wear out, and getting them replaced early can help avoid a dangerous situation.
